About the Fr. McGivney Guild

Every member of the Knights of Columbus should also join the Fr. McGivney Guild. Membership is free and easy to sign up for. Each month you will receive a newsletter with insightful information about the cause of the canonization of our Order's founder. We encourage all knights to learn about our venerable founder and his reasons for forming the Order.

If you aren't a member sign up now. If your brother knights in your council aren't members, encourage them to join the guild. If they aren't comfortable or able to use the web, offer to sign them up.

Pray the prayer for the canonization of Fr. Michael J. McGivney as often as you can and certainly during council meetings and at council events. Be on the lookout for miracles performed by our venerable priest.

Weekly Guild Mass

Each week a special Mass is celebrated for the intentions of members of the Father McGivney Guild by Father Gabriel B. O'Donnell, vice postulator.

Christmas and Easter Triduum Masses

Petitions sent by Guild members are placed on the altar for Masses celebrated in Rome at Easter and Christmas. Each Triduum, or series of three Masses, draws hundreds of petitions from members of the Father McGivney Guild.

Write to the Guild to have your special intentions placed on the altar and remembered at the monthly Masses, special novena, or Triduum Masses celebrated by the Guild. There is no better way to commend a sick or deceased loved one to God’s merciful care. Special worries or concerns will also be included in our prayers.

Prayer for the Canonization of Father Michael J. McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church.

Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your venerable servant Father Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
